I'm sorry but it didn't work, off-the-bat syntax error:

/home/me/scripts/icatalog_unpackager.sh: line 21: syntax error in 
conditional expression

I've never heard of "[[  ]]" before, simply because I was taught to use 
Shell Script with as much of the external UNIX capabilities as possible 
and as little built-in shell, if that makes sense.
